Military Wife Appreciation Week

So often, emphasis gets placed on service men and women and their sacrifice. I am in no way denouncing that. A man or woman in the military sacrifices so very much so that we can have the freedoms that we so enjoy. I am forever thankful, and grateful, for their sacrifice and service.

This week, though, I will be putting the spotlight on the women that play the behind-the-scenes role in military life. The wives. They take care of the homefront, support and encourage their husbands, take on the father and mother role when their husband is deployed or working. So many times, their sacrifice isn’t acknowledged or brought to the forefront.

This week, as we are on the brink of Military Spouse Appreciation Day (May 12), I would like to show my appreciation by dedicating my blog posts to them. Each day, you will see a new face and hear a new story. I so admire these strong women.  I hope you will enjoy them. I know that I have enjoyed putting them together.
