Muse

What is it that inspires you? I’ve often wondered.

Is it found in a person?

A man with a deep, hearty laugh?

        A delicious, Southern drawl?

Crinkly eyes, the perfect shade of dark blue?

Perhaps it’s found in a place?

A cabin in the woods?

An old wooden covered bridge?

A little white church?

Perhaps it’s found in a sound?

        Rain on a tin roof?

        A tea kettle whistling?

        An old blues song?

Perhaps it’s found in words?

A love quote by F. Scott Fitzgerald?

A tale of woe by Poe?

A well-crafted short story by Hemmingway?

Perhaps it’s in a landscape?

        Beautifully hued gardens?

        Rich, Fall leaves strewn about?

        Waves crashing along the beach?

Tell me, what is it that makes you tick?

What makes you dream?

Where does your inspiration find you?
