How can you be that pale after a week at the beach?

Hey y'all, I do apologize...I know you're probably missin' ol' Cynthia Kay about now... but yesterday was an extremely long day for the Sheffield girls.  When I got home at around 8 last night, mom had already had to take two doses of pain reliever.  I am hoping my sweet Mama can post later in the week.

Today, I wanted to go ahead and address the elephant in the room.  I can already hear the question now, "Aleta, how can you still be this pale after a week at the beach?"  Here's the answer: I went out on the beach exactly once.  Gasp if you will, but my ten little piggies only touched the sand a total of one time.  ONE.  Why?  It's Florida.  It's hot as Satan's kitchen. And I'm a chubby girl.  I hate to sweat.  Also, having no thyroid means that I have a very hard time adjusting to extreme temperatures.  If I'm hot, it takes me FOREVER to cool down.  And when I'm cold, it takes me a very long time to warm up.

So what exactly did I do the whole week?  I spent some very needed time with the people that I love most.  I spent some glorious time in the condo with my nose in a book.  I read three books, and began a fourth.  I took some beautiful pictures (from my balcony), which I plan to share later this week.  I would love to say that I spent oodles of time writing...but that's just not the case.  Unfortunately, I did not force myself to get up at 4 am the one morning that I had the hankering, and have not since found the motivation.  However, I am hoping to unveil a little project in the upcoming months.  Wrapping my mind around that and how to develop was something I can mark off as productive.

I can tell you a few things I didn't do this past week:  I didn't wear makeup.  I didn't do my hair.  A very uncommon occurrence for me.  I used no heat on my hair, whatsoever, up until yesterday.  Heck...I'm pretty sure I went three days without actually brushing my hair.  As much as I love dolling up, this was a surprisingly nice change for me.  My hair feels great, my skin feels great.  And I feel refreshed.

While I missed my friends terribly, my week flew by and certainly didn't seem long enough.  Alas, it never does.  However, this time away has made me open my eyes to things that I need to start making a little more time for.

In the meantime...here's to making it through Monday....and here's to the pale, sassy, chubby girls that hate to sweat!

XOXO,
Aleta Kaylee

(P.S. Regarding the photo above, I don't just wake up with fake eyelashes and curled hair...Dani Keesler did "a thing" yesterday lol).
