Giving Back

I have a small favor to ask of all of my readers:  I want you to give back this Christmas season.  Not only because there are so many that are struggling around you...but because giving back is good for your soul.

I will wholeheartedly admit that I can be a selfish person.  I know this about myself.  But truthfully, the old adage "It is better to give than receive" rings true.  There is nothing more rewarding than giving back.

This holiday season is the perfect opportunity to give back.  Take a name off of the Angel Tree.  Contact the Guardian Ad Litem to sponsor a child for Christmas. Give food to your local food bank.  Participate in the Samaritan's Purse Shoe Box gifts.

Even locally, in Trenton, there is a non-perishables box located in the Courthouse that will be distributed among struggling families, and there is a box for Toys for Tots also located at the Courthouse.  If you feel led, please donate.

Also, look around...be mindful of those around you...There may be someone as you're standing in line to pay for your groceries, and the person in front of you is unable to buy all of their groceries.  You may see someone on the street corner with shoes falling apart.  You may see a struggling single mom in a restaurant.  Look for little ways that you can help your fellow man.

Remember "Even the smallest stone makes a ripple in the water."
