Mama Says: Truth Be Told Art

Tracey Moody, Melissa Grant, Enid Harrell, and me
This week I had to get in touch with my artistic self. Last Sunday, there was a Fun Stampers Journey Event in Gainesville. Then our Stampin Up class on Thursday. And then, on Saturday, I went to a Truth Be Told event at Union Baptist Church. Now, to be honest, this event was attended by some of my stamping friends. And did we have fun while we painted our masterpiece!!

Tracey and I
This was the second time I had attended one of these events. If you ever have a chance to attend one of these events, please know that you should. Go to www.truthbetoldart.com for more information about their classes or to schedule or host an event or to just view some of the artwork. Their website states “We teach those who think they “can’t draw a stick man” how to paint a beautiful masterpiece with God’s Truth on it.” They show up at the event with everything you need. We were given a choice of two images, one a manger scene or an angel. Then you pick the Bible verse that you want on it. The leader is there to help guide you, but you can choose the colors that you want. With our table of four friends, two chose the manger scene and two chose the angel. As my friend Enid pointed out, the angel could be displayed year-round if we chose a verse that didn’t have a Christmas message. That thought and the fact that the angel was a simpler image helped me to make up my mind. After all, I tend to put up a picture and leave it up.

Me with my masterpiece
Let me just say, I am no artist, but I am proud of the picture. And in a room with about 25 people, there were no two alike. And I think everyone was happy with their own. Our motto with stamping is that there are no mistakes, just room for more embellishments, and it seems to be the same with these pictures. If something didn’t seem right, the instructor was there with pointers for a remedy to fix the problem.

It was a fun night, with lots of laughter at our table. Thank you, Tracy, for inviting me and Melissa and Enid for the company. The four of us always have fun together. And I came home with a masterpiece, if I do say so myself.
