A Moment of Reassurance

Last week, I posed this writing prompt to my class: "Tell me your education story. Tell me what led you to sitting here in this class tonight." I told them that while this was a writing exercise, I was more focused on hearing their stories and getting to know them better through it.

In reading them at home that night, some blessed my heart, some broke my heart, but it gave me such insight into what they had dealt with previously.

In that very moment, I felt reassured that all of the changes--and all the craziness--that I had dealt with this past month had been worth it. In that moment, reading their essays, I felt reassured that I, myself, had made the right decision for me.
