Boudoir Eyes and Calling the Sheriff's Office

Never would I ever call myself “mild-tempered.”  I am a bit dramatic at times.  I will admit.  The following is a prime example of such.

I once called the sheriff’s office over a stolen eyeshadow palette.  This is just about how that conversation went.

Me: “Hi, I’d like to report a crime.  I had someone steal some items from my house.  We’ve had a contractor working on our house, and his girlfriend stole some items from me.”

Sheriff’s Office:  “Ma’am, what items we’re stolen?”

Me:  “She stole my eye shadow palette.”

SO:  “Ma’am?”

Me:  “My eyeshadow palette.”

SO:  “Ma’am, can I put you on hold for a second?”

Me: “Sure.”

SO (next person):  “Ma’am, I’ve heard you had some items stolen from your house?”

Me:  “Yes.  My eyeshadow palette was stolen.”

SO:  “Eyeshadow palette?”

Me:  “It was URBAN DECAY.”

By the third person that I spoke with, and them treating me as if I was speaking Greek, I wanted to ask “May I please speak with a female officer...preferably one that wears makeup and has good eyebrows?  She will understand.”

It is laughable now.  That day, I was one hot tamale.

For so long I have been tied to the Naked palettes, and Mary Kay eye shadows.  I’m a creature of habit, what can I say?

I am so behind the times.  I’m fairly certain every other girl has purchased a Too Faced palette at some point.  But I only recently broke down and bought one.

The last two times I have went to have pictures done, Dani has used Too Faced eye palettes while doing my eye makeup.  So I was intrigued.

Last weekend, I ordered the “Boudoir Eyes” off of the Ulta website.  And let me just say, I’m in love.

One of my complaints with the Naked palettes were that they had no real how-to guide.  I know the basics of eye makeup application, sure...but with all of the different colors, I needed an idea for what to use together and such.  I always ended up using maybe 4 of the 12 colors and that was really it.

The Boudoir Eyes Palette?  Had a How-to-Guide.  It gave a cheat sheet for three different looks.  I loved the pigments and colors.  It looks pretty, without being over-the-top.  I love it.  In fact, I went out today and bought the “Natural Eyes” palette.

If you, like me, haven’t yet checked out the Too Faced Eye palettes...and you love makeup...it might be something that you want to look into.

  1. Aleta, I just picked up Lorac Pro 3 and I'm in love!!!!! I also have Tarte In Bloom which smells like chocolate and let's be honest, who wouldn't want to that?! If you are looking for a brand that is highly pigmented and inexpensive I recommend doing you check out colourpop.com. most of their makeup is $5 an item. I'm obsessed with their matte liquid lipsticks!
